Build a folder of files with an AI model, beside you.
Workpen is a desktop app. You chat with a model, and it builds and edits the files in a folder you choose, next to your own hand edits. It runs on your computer and talks only to the model you set up.
A workflow is a folder of rules
A workflow holds the rules, reference notes, stages and checks for one kind of content, such as a small website. Attach one to a project folder and the model interviews you, plans, builds, and asks for your approval before each stage ends.

Static website (v1): Build a small static website of plain HTML and CSS.
> use Static website on C:\sites\bakery
Added 1. Static website on C:\sites\bakery.
You stay in control
- Your files stay in your folder. The model reads and edits them with tools you can see in the chat.
- It re-reads anything you changed by hand, and never writes over a file it has not read.
- Every turn is saved. Browse the history, compare a file with an earlier turn, and restore it.
Your computer, your model
There is no account and no online version. Use your own API key, or a local model such as Ollama. Nothing goes to a Workpen server, because there is none. See Privacy for exactly what leaves your computer.
Status
Workpen is in development, for Windows first, then macOS. It is not released yet. See Download.
